In order to give students access to the material you have selected for the syllabus, AU Library offers a semester shelf service.
This is where we gather all the books that form part of the syllabus so that there is always a copy available to the students. As a rule we also buy one or more copies of the books for lending purposes.
The semester shelf is a collection of books that are listed as recommended primary literature for students.
Based on the teaching plans, we collect/purchase books and place one copy on the semester shelf.
We do not place the following types of literature on the semester shelf:
The material is intended for copying at the library and cannot be borrowed.
Students can access the semester shelf around the clock, as the library is open to students and staff with key cards/student IDs outside regular opening hours.

The library does not maintain semester shelves, but we do purchase copies of the syllabus literature and make them available in the library's textbook collection.
The material is intended for copying at the library and cannot be loaned out.
