Frequently asked questions

How do I register as a library user?

As a new student or lecturer at Aarhus University, you must log into our library system using your AU login (WAYF) and register as a user. Then you can borrow books and use the library's printing facilities and access our e-resources.

How many books can I borrow?

There is no limit as to how many books you can borrow at AU Library.

How do I get access to all the resources currently online at library.au.dk?

You have to register as a library user to get access to our online resources when you are off Campus (home access). Home access means that you can gain access to e.g. electronic journals, e-books, databases and much more from any PC you use, both from home and from abroad, e.g. as an exchange student.

Where is it possible to print?

AU Library offers print facilities at all the libraries. You log in and pay online and upload the files that you wish to print. When you are ready to print you simply log on to a printer at the library. Read more about our print facilities and how to get started.

Which libraries can I use?

AU Library has multiple locations. You are free to choose whatever library you wish to make use of, when you need to pick up and return books. However, if you have any academic questions regarding a specific field it would be wise to pick a library that is connected to that specific field or det Kgl. Bibliotek.

Where can I find and possibly copy literature to my courses (curriculum)?

Some of the libraries have bought curriculum literature for your specific course and this literature can be placed on seperate shelves (semester shelves) or in the reading room. This literature can be used on site and can be copied or scanned for personal use.

When is the library open?

The opening hours vary from location to location, but most libraries have 24/7 access for students and employees associated with the faculty.

Where can I find study seats?

There are many different study seats spread out across the libraries. We have made a summary of where you can find them.
