Study seats at AU Library

Finding study seats

AU Library offers the opportunity to make use of study seats at the majority of our libraries. There are differences across the individual libraries as to whether study seats should be reserved and booked in advance, or whether they are free to use on an ad hoc basis. Also, remember that AU Library offers the possibility of booking group working rooms or booking study carrels during your writing a thesis.


Det Kgl. Bibliotek - Aarhus

  • Number: Approx. 250
  • Lending time: The seats are available within Det Kgl. Bibliotek - Aarhus' opening hours. They cannot be booked in advance. 
  • Location: The study seats are located throughout the library.
  • Note: The library also has 156 quiet study seats in the reading room and in Study Zone East, which you can find on the first floor. Read more about the quiet study seats.

Bartholins Allé

  • Number: Approx. 130
  • Location:
    • Building 1351, 2nd floor: 37 individual study seats
    • Building 1351, 1st floor: approx. 95 study seats (individual study seats and/or group work rooms)
  • Lending time: You cannot reserve the seats.
  • Guide: There is public access in the daytime so you cannot expect it to be completely quiet.
  • Note: The faculty also makes study seats available in other buildings across the university park, which can be used by all students.

Birk Centerpark

  • Number: 20
  • Lending time: Unlimited.
  • Location: You can find the study seats in the library.

Emdrup

  • Number: 226. The library offers different types of study seats, most of them without a workstation. Bring your own computer. 
  • Lending time: You cannot book the seats. It is first come first and they are only yours while you sit there.
  • Location: The study seats are located throughout the library. There are seats for group work and  seats  where you must be quiet.

Fuglesangs Allé


Health

  • Number: 125 study seats in the Victor Albeck Building.
  • Lending time: You cannot reserve study seats.
  • Location:
    • 73 in the library
    • 52 on the third floor.
  • Guide: There is public access in the daytime, so you cannot expect it to be completely quiet.
  • Note: The faculty also makes study seats available in other buildings throughout the university park, which can be used by all students.

Kasernen

  • Number: 20
  • Lending time: Unlimited.
  • Location: You can find the study seats in the library.
  • Guide: You have the possibility of connecting your laptop to the Internet. 

Katrinebjerg

  • Number: 93. The library also has two large screens with the possibility to connect your laptop. 
  • Lending time: You cannot reserve study seats.
  • Location: 
    • 78 study seats at the library + 15 study carrels by the offices, access to 220V and extension cords.
    • 1 sofa area and 8 armchairs with small tables in the library.
    • In the basement, there are individual study seats as well as group workplaces with access to whiteboards.
  • Guide: There is public access in the daytime, so you cannot expect it to be completely quiet. As an AU student you have 24/7-access with your student card.

Moesgård

  • Number: 46
  • Lending time: The study seats are for use on an ad hoc basis and cannot be booked in advance.
  • Location: The study seats are located at the library - all with lamps + 220V.

Nobel Park

  • Number: Approx. 200
  • Lending time: You cannot reserve study seats.
  • Location: Building 1461 and 1463 - distributed throughout both buildings.
  • Note: If you need a quiet study seat, you can make use of Nobel Park’s quiet study seats.

Ny Munkegade

  • Number: 88 (primarily group workplaces).
  • Lending time: You cannot reserve the study seats.
  • Location: The study seats are located at the library.
  • Guide: There is public access to the library in all these areas, so you cannot expect it to be completely quiet.
