Radio/TV

Radio/TV from Mediestream

You have the possibility of using radio, television and commercial broadcasts in your teaching.

Det Kgl. Bibliotek - Aarhus has entered into an agreement with Copydan AVU Media, through which students and lecturers have access to use more than 1 million radio and television broadcasts for the purposes of study and teaching at the university. Researchers have access to use the material for research.

Radio, television and commercial broadcasts are streamed via mediestream.dk. Use of the material requires a personal WAYF login. AV materials can only be used for study, teaching and research purposes. The contents of Mediestream may not be downloaded, forwarded, modified, used commercially or broadcasted publicly, etc. Read more on the conditions of use of Mediestream

All students at AU have access to Mediestream.

Your own recordings

Lecturers are also permitted to make their own recordings of broadcasts and show them as part of their lectures at the university, so long as the agreement with Copydan AVU Media is upheld. See the list of channels where this possibility exists.

There is ongoing inspiration for the use of AV materials on Mediestream’s Facebook page. If there is any doubt about use, more information as well as contact details can be found at Mediestream

What is copyright?

Copyright protects the creators of texts, music, images, websites, television broadcasts, databases, etc. The vast majority of works are protected by copyright. The copyright represents a balance between creator and user. One should therefore be aware of one’s own copyright, as well as respecting the rights of others. Developments in the digital world have brought an increased focus on copyright, this also applies to the use of copyrighted material within universities.
