Reference Works

  • International Encyclopedia of the Social & Behavioral Sciences This encyclopaedia covers anthropology, demography, ethnology, economy, political science, psychology, pedagogy, sociology, gender studies and media studies. Contains shorter overview articles, that are typically 4-6 pages long and have comprehensive references.
  • International Encyclopedia of Political Science Academic encyclopaedia within the fields of political science and international politics. Contains shorter overview articles, that are typically 4-6 pages long and have comprehensive references.
  • Encyclopedia of Social Measurement Work of reference with more than 300 articles about method and empirical analysis within the social sciences. Topics covered: quantitative and qualitative research- and analysis techniques, spot tests and statistical methods. Furthermore, examples can be found on datasets, research strategies and more.
  • International Encyclopedia of Ethics Collection of peer-reviewed articles containing definitions and new research. The ethics are treated very broadly both historically, politically, religiously and culturally. The collection aims at being global, meaning that non-western ethics and morals are treated thoroughly as well.
  • Oxford Reference Online Oxford Reference Online is a joined access to 100 reference works from Oxford University Press. Topics include: art, economy, medicine, environment, history, politics, literature, natural science, mythology, architecture as well as dictionaries.
  • Gale Ebooks
    E-book database containing reference works mainly within the study of the humanities, theology, religion and social science.

Bibliographies

  • Worldwide Political Science Abstracts International bibliography with references to journal articles in international journals within the fields of political science, international relations, public management and law.
  • Historical Abstracts The world’s leading historical bibliography with references to articles, books, dissertations, reviews and more concerning world history from 1450 and onwards (excluding US and Canada – see below). All language areas are covered including non-Latin ones (Russian, Hebrew, Arab etc.).
  • Oxford Bibliographies – Society
    Et udvalg af peer-reviewede artikler m.m. indenfor mere end 200 sociologiske emneområder. Oversigterne opdateres på årlig basis. Brug ”Find this ressource” under hver indførsel til at få adgang til materialet.
  • Anthropology Plus The most extensive bibliography within the fields of anthropology, museology and social anthropology. Indexes journals, books, reports, anthologies and obituary notices. Covers the period from late 1800 and up until today. 
  • ABSEES (American Bibliography of Slavic and East European Studies) Bibliography with references and often also full-text access to North American (American and Canadian) reviews, articles, books, reports and online resources concerning East European anthropology, history, culture, literature, art and religion etc. Covers the Soviet Union, the new Russia and the previous soviet republics as well as the rest of Eastern Europe. 

Article Archives

  • JSTOR Articles from leading journals within all subject areas. There is no access to publications from the last five years. 
  • Project MUSE Journal database with full-text access to high-quality peer-reviewed journals within the humanities and social sciences. The journals are published by commercial as well as non-commercial publishers, institutions and organizations. 
  • East View
    Newpaper database with an extensive collection of Russian newspapers and magazines. Covers also former Soviet States, East Asia and the Middle East. (follow link, then click 'all sources')

E-books and Text Archives

  • Ebook Central E-book database with around 130.000 e-books within all subject areas. The publications are mainly in English and recently published at acknowledged English and American publishing houses. 
  • Centre for Economic Policy Research, Discussion Paper Series (CEPR) Contains working papers, newsletters, reports, books etc. concerning a lot of national economical topics. 
  • Cambridge Companions Online Reference works with introductions to classic and central authors, artists, philosophers, topics and periods. Contains two collections: The Cambridge Companions to Literature and Classics and the Cambridge Companions to Philosophy, Religion and Culture.

Newspaper Articles

  • Infomedia (only in Danish)
    Here you can find full text articles from Danish national, regional and local daily and weekly newspapers, specialist journals, magazines and news agencies. Coverage is 1990 and onwards.

  • Factiva Database providing access to full-texts from more than 14.000 news sources including 12.000 websites, 4000 blogs, 2.500 newspapers and more than 5.500 other publications. There are sources from almost all countries and languages – all available from the day of publication.
  • Regional Business News This database provides comprehensive full-text coverage of regional business publications within the United States. Incorporates coverage of more than 80 regional business publications covering all metropolitan and rural areas.

Statistics and Data

  • Eurostat Eurostat contains a statistic data bank as well as publications in full-text. The statistics are divided into EU Policy Indicators and a number of themes. Also contains recent news. Under the publications there is access to Eurostat’s statistical yearbooks, regional yearbooks, series and working papers. 
  • World Development Indicators WDI includes all the member states of the World Bank (187) as well as other economies with more than 30.000 citizens (244 in all). Broad coverage of the countries and the country groups with data on the population, environment, economy and more.
  • OECD iLibrary The database provides access to a large amount of publications and statistics that deal with and analyses economic and social topics within e.g. macroeconomics, foreign trade, education, employment, development and research. 
  • IMF E-library The base provides access to IMF-statistics such as the International Financial Statistics Yearbook, Balance of Payments Statistics Yearbook, Direction of Trade Statistics Yearbook and Government Finance Statistics Yearbook.

International Organizations

  • United Nations Treaty Collection
  • IMF E-library Publications concerning IMF’s activities, covering international politics, international financial assistance and international monetary conditions. The database contains most (but not all of) IMF’s publications, as well as a news outline.
  • The World Factbook The World Factbook provides information on the history, people, government, economy, geography, communication, transportation, military, and transnational issues for 267 world entities.
  • The World Bank Publications: Documents, reports and working papers in full-text.
  • NIAS. Nordic Institute of Asian Studies Nordic information portal for scientists, students, officials and journalists with an interest in Asia. The content is based primarily on social science and the humanities. Including NIAS Library and AsiaPortal.

European Institutions

  • European Sources Online The portal provides information about Europe with a primary focus on EU, EU law, institutions and activities in EU, European countries, regions and other international organizations in Europe. 
  • Find-eR The EU commission’s libraries´ catalogue with references to printed as well as electronical books, journal articles, EU-publications and documents from the EU countries’ governments concerning EU and European integration. It is also possible to search for materials from the Commission’s library. Full-text access to official publications and materials from AU-Library. 
  • EUR-Lex Access to European Union law.
  • Europa.eu Official website of the European Union
  • Europeana Portal providing free access to millions of digitalized books, newspapers, letters, records, paintings, drawings, maps, photographs, museum objects, music, films and sound recordings within all subject areas. Since 2008 more than 2000 European institutions have contributed to the portal’s many digital collections.  
  • WWW Virtual Library: International Affairs Resources
    A portal to over 2000 annotated links to high-quality English-language sources of information and analysis in many international and global studies topics.
