Political parties

  • Håndbog i dansk politik .........  / Ib Garodkin (only in Danish)
    It was published annually from 1979/1980 until 2003. It is a clear and detailed reference work that describes the Danish parties’ opinion regarding, e.g. conditions at the labour market, housing policy, military, environment questions, taxes and charges, traffic, foreign policy and education. The publication stopped with the 2003 edition.
  • Partiprogrammer og partipolitiske skrifter 1872 – (only in Danish)
    Here you can find Danish political parties’ manifestos, pamphlets and election material made available online by the Royal Library’s The Collection of Pamphlets and Corporate Publications with links and bibliographic references. Newer and current material will be added gradually.
  • Danske politiske partier 1970-1992
    A bibliography (only in Danish) / by Jørgen Elklit, Gorm Willemoes Jensen and Karen Prehn.
    It contains around 1,000 references that cover literature in the period 1970-1992 about the Danish political parties, e.g. in relation to the voters, in Folketinget, the Danish Parliament and in government contexts.

  • Manifesto Project Database
    A project based on quantitative content analyses of parties’ electoral manifestos from more than 50 countries, and it covers all free, democratic elections since 1945.
  • The Danish Comparative Agendas Project
    This is a website for the Danish Policy Agendas Project. It is possible to download datasets and codebooks. See also Comparative Agendas Project with links to the different countries’ agendas projects.

Elections and voters

  • Folketingsvalg siden 1953 (only in Danish)
    Danish Parliament elections since 1953 with focus on the elections themes and results. Theme side from Danmarkshistorien.dk with the purpose of giving an easy and clear historical overview over the core in the representative Danish democracy, i.e. the Danish Parliament elections where entitled voters elect representatives to Folketinget, the Danish Parliament. For this purpose the site contains graphic, data and descriptions for each election as well as descriptions, quizzes and governments overviews for each period.
  • Risbjergs snit (only in Danish)
    Election researcher emeritus Søren Risbjerg Thomsen makes every month a quality based average of the opinion polls for the website Altinget. See also Risbjerg’s tidligere snit 1990-2016  (Risbjerg’s previous averages 1990-2016) and Altingets guide to the opinion polls.
  • Danske vælgere 1971-2019 (only in Danish)
    An overview over the development in the voters’ opinions etc., 4. edition, 2020. By Rune Stubager, Kasper Møller Hansen og Jesper Sommer Jensen.
  • The Danish National Election Study (in Danish and English)
    The Danish Election Study has made national, representative voters researches after each Parliament election since 1971. The main purpose with the researches is to cover the main reasons to why the voters vote as they do.
  • Centre for Voting and Parties at Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen (in Danish and English)
    Center for Voting and Parties (CVAP) is a research center that focuses on the study of the central institutions in the modern representative democracy (Elections, Voters, Electoral Systems, Political Parties, Parliaments, Governments, Constitutions and more), with the behaviours and processes that this system entails.
