Study seats at AU Library

Finding study seats

AU Library offers the opportunity to make use of study seats at the majority of our service locations. There are differences across the individual locations as to whether study seats should be reserved and booked in advance, or whether they are free to use on an ad hoc basis. Also, remember that AU Library offers the possibility of booking group working rooms or booking study carrels during your writing a thesis.


The State and University Library

  • Number: Approx. 250
  • Lending time: The seats are available within the State and University Library’s opening hours. They cannot be booked in advance. 
  • Location: The study seats are located throughout the library.
  • Note: The library also has 156 quiet study seats in the reading room and in Study Zone East, which you can find on the first floor. Read more about the quiet study seats.

Bartholins Allé

  • Number: Approx. 400
  • Location:
    • Building 1351, floors 1, 2 and 3 (individual study seats, group work rooms, etc.)
    • Building 1340, floor 3, room 360 (if the room is available).
    • Building 1342, floors 2 and 3 (reading room, quiet study area with individual study seats). Access to both reading rooms via floor 3. In both reading rooms there are also 2 small, quiet reading rooms, each with 4 seats. Read more about the quiet study seats
    • Building 1350, floor 6 (reading room, quiet study room with individual study seats).
    • Building 1332, floor 3 (reading room, quiet study room with individual study seats).
  • Note: The faculty also makes study seats available in other buildings across the university park, which can be used by all students.    

Campus Emdrup

  • Number: The library offers many different types of study seat, either with or without workstation.
  • Lending time: You cannot book the seats, and they are only yours while you occupy them.
  • Location: The study seats are located throughout the library. In the 24/7-access section there is also a quiet reading room.

Fuglesangs Allé

  • Number: 246
  • Location:
    • 220 study seats in building 2623 (D-wing), building 2624 (E-wing) and building 2625 (F-wing)
    • 26 individual quiet study seats (booking) in building 2623 (D-wing) and building 2625 (G-wing). Read more about the quiet study seats.
  • Guide: Study seats which need to be reserved, can be booked via roombooking.au.dk. You can reserve a seat between 8:00-16:00, for a maximum of 7 hours. However, you are welcome to continue using the position if it has not been reserved by another. If you do not use the position within 15 minutes of the booked time, you lose the right to use it. Please keep the area tidy - others will be using the position after you.
  • Note: The library also has 44 study seats for students currently writing their theses.

Herning

  • Number: 20
  • Lending time: Unlimited.
  • Location: You can find the study seats in the library and in the Network Lounge at the back of the library.

Kasernen

  • Number: 20
  • Lending time: Unlimited.
  • Location: You can find the study seats in the library.
  • Guide: You have the possibility of connecting your laptop to the Internet. 

Katrinebjerg

  • Number: 93
  • Lending time: You cannot reserve study seats.
  • Location: 
    • 78 study seats at the library + 15 study carrels by the offices, access to 220V and extension cords.
    • 2 sofa areas and 4 armchairs with small tables in the library.
    • In the basement, there are individual study seats as well as group workplaces with access to whiteboards.
  • Guide: There is public access in the daytime, so you cannot expect it to be completely quiet. As an AU student you have 24/7-access with your student card.

Moesgård

  • Number: 46
  • Lending time: The study seats are for use on an ad hoc basis and cannot be booked in advance.
  • Location: The study seats are located at the library - all with lamps + 220V.

Navitas

  • Number: 18 study seats, distributed into 6 individual and 3 group workplaces. The library also has two large screens with the possibility to connect your laptop. 
  • Lending time: You cannot reserve the workplaces. The loan period is unlimited during the library's opening hours.
  • Location: The study seats are located around the library.
  • Guide: There is public access to the library in all these areas, so you cannot expect it to be completely quiet.    

Nobel Park

  • Number: Approx. 200
  • Lending time: You cannot reserve study seats.
  • Location: Building 1461 and 1463 - distributed throughout both buildings.
  • Note: If you need a quiet study seat, you can make use of Nobel Park’s quiet study seats.

Ny Munkegade

  • Number: 88 (primarily group workplaces).
  • Lending time: You cannot reserve the study seats.
  • Location: The study seats are located at the library.
  • Guide: There is public access to the library in all these areas, so you cannot expect it to be completely quiet.

Health

  • Number: 141 study seats in the Victor Albeck Building.
  • Lending time: You cannot reserve study seats.
  • Location:
    • 73 in the library
    • 16 on second floor (available only for Molecular Medicine)
    • 52 on the third floor.
  • Guide: There is public access in the daytime, so you cannot expect it to be completely quiet.
  • Note: The faculty also makes study seats available in other buildings throughout the university park, which can be used by all students.
