How can others use your research?

Ordinarily your research publications are copyright protected, i.e. you as the right holder must give your consent before others can reuse your texts, graphs, etc.

If you publish with Open Access, you can make use of Creative Commons licenses, which are tools that make it easier to adapt your copyright and provide users of your material a number of additional rights without having to enter into individual agreements.

But you need to be aware that Creative Commons licenses cannot be withdrawn. Once your work has been published with a Creative Commons license it is permanently binding.
