Learn how to perform your own information seeking tasks when working on large assignments

Academic Information Seeking is an open online course for those working on a research assignment who would like to improve their literature search and information management skills.

Academic Information Seeking

Participate in the online course Academic Information Seeking and you will be introduced to the fundamentals of academic literature search, such as developing a search strategy, and the evaluation and documentation of search results.

You can decide when and where to complete the course, as it is online and can be accessed at any time.

The course consists of 3 modules with 21 videos. You can either see it all at once, or over the course of 3 weeks. The course is in English with optional English subtitles.    

Academic Information Seeking provides you with:

  • ideas for generating search terms
  • an introduction to identifying different types of literature, and tools for professional information searching
  • knowledge on literature search; search strategies, search methods and search techniques
  • tips on how to critically evaluate your sources
  • knowledge on the rules of copyright and how to avoid plagiarism
  • knowledge on correct citation practices and the creation of bibliographies for your assignments

The course has been developed in collaboration with information specialists from the Technical University of Denmark and the University of Copenhagen.
